High-Performance Infrastructure and Internet Access to Multi-Dwelling-Unit
CLIENT CHALLENGES
- Residents lacked high-speed internet, limiting critical access to online education, job opportunities, telehealth, and more.
- The building housed low-income residents, many of whom could not afford standard rates charged by large Internet Service Providers
- Service and residents had support issues with the previous provider (slow to address issues, lack of responsiveness to requests).
- Existing infrastructure was inadequate and had a lack of comprehensive coverage/Wi-Fi access for all residents.
- Client needed a solution that did not involve the installation of underground infrastructure.
TEKNOGRID SOLUTIONS
- TeknoGRID provided free high-speed Internet service to residents and installed the infrastructure needed to support reliable, high-performance Internet access.
- Leveraged philanthropic financials from Prudential Insurance to sustain and support system infrastructure.
- Installed an innovative, hybrid solution that involved microwave and fiber optics, eliminating the need for underground infrastructure.
- Opened up the network and provided break/fix services for the client to enable free internet service for residents.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Residents of a multi-dwelling-unit (MDU) high-rise in a low-income housing complex lacked high-speed internet. This limited critical access to online education, job opportunities, telehealth, and more. TeknoGRID, as the lead contractor, provided end-to-end services and consultation/guidance to provide residents with free high-speed Internet service. TeknoGRID also installed the infrastructure needed to support reliable, high-performance Internet access. Our services successfully provided a better quality of life and reliable IT for the residents.
